The first player in Evansville IceMen history to be called up to The Show is back.

Goalie Chris Driedger was a workhorse for the IceMen until getting the call from the team's NHL affiliate on February 17th. Upon his departure, he led the league in saves, and was second in minutes played thanks in part to a rash of injuries that decimated the teams roster, leaving them no other choice but to keep him in games longer than normal.

Brandon Komm was acquired from the Cincinnati Cyclones after Driedger departure and has done well. In his nine games since joining the team, he's racked up 243 saves while playing 469 minutes.

It will be interesting to see what Driedger's role will be when he returns to action for the IceMen. I'll assume there's no guarantee he'll return as the starter with the way Komm has played in his absence. What I do know is that having two quality goalies on the roster is a good problem for the IceMen to have.

The team will have eight of their next nine games inside the Ford Center including this Wednesday's game against Kalamazoo. Tickets for all remaining home games are available at the Ford Center box office between 10am and 5pm Monday through Friday and after Noon for weekend games. Coverage of Wednesday's game begins at 7pm on ESPN Evansville 105.3, and online at ESPNevansville.com.
