Coming off their fifth consecutive winning season, the University of Southern Indiana's Lady Screaming Eagles soccer team finds themselves in the top ten of the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

The preseason poll of GLVC head coaches puts the Eagles ninth after an overall record of 9-7-1, and 7-7-1 conference record in 2013.

Defending GLVC champions, Quincy University sits on top of the poll after an 18-1-4 overall record, and a 12-0-3 conference record, while Truman University comes in at number two. Rockhurst, Bellarmine, and UW-Parkside round out the top five in that order.

The Eagles will open their 2014 season on September 5th on the road in Columbus, Ohio to face Ashland University, with their first home game coming two weeks later on the 19th when they host University of Missouri-St. Louis at 5 p.m.

Another early highlight of the Eagles schedule is the annual "Kick for the Cure" game on October 10th to help promote awareness of, and help in the fight against breast cancer. The team will wear special pink jerseys during the game.

The complete 2014 schedule is available through the USI Athletics website.
