Thanks to strong performances to start the cross country season, both the University of Southern Indiana men's and women's cross country teams find themselves moving up the ladder in the recent U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches’ Association poll.

The men moved one spot to number five ed by junior Johnnie Guy and senior Tyler Pence, the Eagles finished first at the Stegemoller Classic and was fourth in an NCAA Division I-heavy field at the University of Kentucky Bluegrass Invitational.

The women surged into the poll to number 16 on the legs of of two-time GLVC Runner of the Week Julia Kohnen who finished first at the Stegemoller Classic before placing fifth at the UK Bluegrass Invitational. It's the first time the the Eagles’ women are in the national poll since late last season.

The Eagles return to action October 4 when they compete in the Greater Louisville Classic at E.P. Tom Sawyer Park in Louisville, Kentucky.
