After an unbelievable season where he led not only the Purple Aces, but in some cases all Division I players, in most major stats, Senior outfielder Kevin Kaczmarski is honored with the Missouri Valley Conference's Jon Carter Player of the Year Award.

How good has Kaczmarski been? Beyond good. Phenomenal is a word that comes to mind. But truthfully, I'm not sure that's a strong enough expression. Here's what he was able to accomplish over the course of the regular season:

  • Led all Division I baseball players in batting average (.478), on-base percentage (.554), and triples (9)
  • Third best slugging percentage (.753) in the nation (the nation!)
  • led the Purple Aces in batting average, hits (85), doubles (19), triples (nine), runs batted in (55), total bases (134), slugging percentage, on-base percentage, and stolen bases (13)
  • Career-high 22 game hitting streak
  • Went hitless in only five off 44 games played this season

Mind boggling.

Kaczmarski gets his chance to pad those stats when the Aces open up MVC Tournament play Wednesday morning at 9am against Bradley in Wichita, Kansas.

Best of luck to the entire Aces squad!
