There is no denying it, spring is officially here!  The trees are budding, flowers are blooming and yes, sigh, the grass needs mowing.  In my neck of the woods, it’s important to keep the grass at a reasonable height, because one never knows what might be lurking in tall grass!  I have a terrible aversion to snakes and while I know many tout their benefits to the ecosystem, I’d rather see a mouse.  It’s just not fun to be walking across my lawn and accidentally step on a snake lying low.  Or opening my garage door and having one slither in across my foot.  I have two uses for snakes – boots and belts.  Please don’t send me hate mail, I leave them alone and pray they do the same for me!

Also, we have a lot of spiders, ticks and other critters that I generally don’t think of as pets.   If you are battling the same issues, it might be time to call in a pest control service.  Most companies offer several options in order to meet your needs.

For instance, I am highly allergic to tick bites and since I spend a fair amount of spare time working in my garden, it’s important to me that I have as much protection against these pests as possible.  So an annual or semi-annual treatment for ticks is very helpful.  We also have a fenced in yard for our dog and flea treatments are in order in that area.

Spiders are another issue where I live so regular treatment in and around the house keeps them at bay.

There are even pest control companies that can assist in eliminating moles, mice, and other unwanted critters from your surroundings.
