Amy Hardin a licensed clinical social worker and Melissa Phillips a certified biblical counselor and essential oils educator join me in a stress relieving exercise. The Holidays can be a very joyous time of the year and also at the same time a very stressful time for some of us. Take care of your health and mental stability by taking s few minutes out of your day to focus on being present so that you can enjoy each moment as it presents itself. Take a "time out" as I like to say and focus on your breathing. If you have to lock yourself in your bathroom or closet, do it so that you can release your stress and tension.

This deep breathing exercise is essential for a healthy body. By deep breathing, I am talking about belly breathing. Shallow breathing from the chest makes us tired and lethargic, it can also cause weight gain! So let's focus on our breathing. Sometimes closing the eyes helps us to stay focused and present. Take a deep slow breath in and focus on filling up your lungs with lots of oxygen, then slowly exhale out of your mouth. Continue doing this for 10 repetitions or as many times as you would like.

During this times of focused breathing think about something you are grateful for and focus on that thing. Let God know how thankful you are and continue breathing. If you are angry or upset, focus on releasing your anger or hurt feelings to God. Maybe forgiveness is something we should all think about daily. Rejoice always, pray continually and thank God in all circumstances for this is the will of God for you and me. Forgiveness is the key to opening our hearts to peace.

Blessings to all of YOU!
