The final METS Comprehensive Operational Analysis (COA) Report will be presented to the public at a special meeting of the Mayor’s Traveling City Hall program on Wednesday, July 29, starting at 5:30 at the C.K. Newsome Community Center, 100 E. Walnut St., Room 118. Following the presentation, Mayor Lloyd Winnecke will address key findings and provide his vision for METS.

The COA report was conducted on behalf of the City of Evansville Metropolitan Planning Organization and the Metropolitan Evansville Transit System by the Lochmueller Group. The analysis evaluated existing route structures, public awareness and attitudes towards transit, the state of METS’s physical assets, details of scheduling practices, and related issues, and recommends a phased, multi-year plan for transit improvements. The final report includes recommendations that will emphasize how METS and related systems in the Evansville region can best serve the people of the region and better attract choice riders in the future.

Evansville residents are invited to attend the Traveling City Hall meeting to review the final document. A copy of the report will also be available online at www.metstransitstudy.info. The meeting will be held inside the METS garage. Limited parking is available at the METS facility on John Street. Overflow parking will be at the parking lot behind the Civic Center next to the C.K. Newsome Community Center on Walnut Street.

METS will operate a special bus route between the Downtown METS Transfer Terminal, located at Sixth and Sycamore streets, and the METS Garage on John Street from 5 to 8 p.m. on July 29. The route will include a temporary bus stop at the C.K. Newsome Community Center for passengers using the overflow parking.
