Showplace Cinemas Chooses Not to Show Sony Pictures, “The Interview”

Showplace Cinemas will delay or drop “The Interview” after Sony Pictures Entertainment hackers posted a message threatening movie theaters and moviegoers who attend screenings of the satire.  Saddened and angered by the recent attacks of terrorism in connection with the movie, Showplace has decided not to present the film out of safety concerns.  Holiday moviegoing is a time honored tradition that should bring loved ones closer together in a safe and friendly environment.  With all the uncertainty surrounding “The Interview”, we feel that the distraction would take away the joy and spirit of the season.”  The safety and comfort of our customers is and will always be a priority for Showplace Cinemas. -Dianne Miles, North Park Cinemas, DBA: Showplace Cinemas
