I have been a Ford girl all my life. My first car was a cute, sporty, little vintage silver  Mustang that my parents had repainted for my 16th birthday. From that moment on, I was absolutely in love. I did stray a bit when I was in college with a Honda Accord, but who doesn't go a little crazy after high school?

Now, I drive a Ford Edge. It's just where I'm at in my life: mom, wife, pet parent to an 115 lb slobbery dog. But, when I opened up my Facebook news feed today and saw that Ford will be releasing a sleek new version of the Ford Bronco in 2018, I already started making plans to ditch the Edge and get my hands on one of the most iconic Ford products to ever roll off the line.

Though the official Ford rendering hasn't been released, a Bronco enthusiast site, Bronco6G has created a prototype of what the new vehicle might look like. And, it's definitely not the bloated Elvis Bronco that rolled down the 405 in '94. No, it's reminiscent of the tough little all-terrain jobby that my mom's boss took us off-roading in when I was eight. Before 1977, the Ford Bronco's design resembled a Jeep 4x4 before it morphed into the cruiser that never touched a splash of mud.

According to Bronco6G,

Bill Johnson, chairman of UAW Local 900 just provided the first direct confirmation that Ford Motor Company will, in fact, be reviving the Ford Bronco and it will be produced at the Michigan Assembly Plant in Wayne, Michigan. 'We hate to see the products go to Mexico, but with the Ranger and the Bronco coming to Michigan Assembly that absolutely secures the future for our people a lot more than the Focus does.' Johnson said in the press conference.

It was also revealed that four new SUV models will be introduced in the near future.

This comes after presidential nominee, Donald Trump, accused Ford Motor Company of abandoning the US in his opening remarks during a presidential debate at Hofstra University in September.

“So Ford is leaving. You see that their small car division [is] leaving. Thousands of jobs leaving Michigan, leaving Ohio. They’re all leaving. And we can’t allow it to happen anymore,” Trump said  in his opening remarks.

I, for one, am over the moon about the new Bronco. I can only hope that Ford takes pity on the working mom and manufactures a few with four doors because, damn it, we want to go bush-wacking too!
