For one day, and one day only, I became a member of the Evansville IceMen, and let's just say, they don't need to worry about me taking up a roster spot anytime soon. Or ever for that matter.

Be warned that if you're a hockey fan, what you are about to see isn't pretty. Unless you enjoy watching someone put ice skates on his feet for only the fourth time in his 37 years on this planet and fall down — a lot, then what you're about to see will delight you.

SPOILER ALERT! The intention for me joining the team for a few hours wasn't to actually try and make the team as they open training camp for the upcoming season. It was to hang out for a bit and get a feel for what these athletes do day in and day out to prepare to play the game they love.

I had a great time, and the guys on the team couldn't have been nicer. As far as my future in hockey, I'll just stick to buying a ticket and watching from the stands.

The IceMen kick off the 2014-2015 season at home inside the Ford Center against the Gwinnett Gladiators on Saturday, October 18th. Single game tickets are available now at the Ford Center box office, and online through Ticketmaster.

If you can't make it to a game, you'll be able to catch them all on ESPN Evansville 105.3, and online at ESPNevansville.com
