Dear advertisers, please stopping releasing your commercials for the Super Bowl online before they actually air during the Super Bowl. You're spoiling it for me.

Listen, I know you're spending an incredibly ridiculous amount of money for 30 seconds of air time during the most watched television event of the year so you want to get your money's worth, but for me part of the Super Bowl viewing experience is the commercials. To a degree, I look just as forward to how your going to attempt to "WOW" me into purchasing your product as much as I do the game itself.

Don't get me wrong, I don't have an issue with you putting them on your website, YouTube channel, or whatever, but do it after the game. Releasing them for the world to see before the game is like reading the last page of a book, or jumping ahead to the end of the movie. Part of the joy of either of those activities is the build up leading to the resolution. Watching your commercials in advance of the Super Bowl is like knowing Bruce Willis dies at the end of Armageddon before watching the movie...oops.

I don't expect you to actually read this letter, you have a business to run after all, but I just felt compelled to let you know that I look forward to your watching your commercials each year, I just refuse to do it before the actual game on Sunday.

Sincerely,

Ryan O'Bryan
