The halfway mark of the NFL regular season is upon us, with week eight giving us a few tough-to-call match ups, and some that I'm not sure anyone even wants to watch. Regardless, here's how I seem them playing out.

Chargers at Broncos - Thursday Night

San Diego looks to bounce back after a tough last-minute loss to the Chiefs last week. Unfortunately, they have to go to Denver and face arguably the best team in the league to do it. The Chargers are third in the league against the pass, but have faced the following quarterbacks, Carson Palmer, Russell Wilson, EJ Manuel, Blake Bortles, Geno Smith, Derek Carr, and Alex Smith. I look for Peyton to be Peyton, and send the Chargers back to  San Diego with their second straight loss.

Winner: Denver

Detroit at Atlanta

While Atlanta is the home team on paper, this is an away game for both teams as it will happen at Wembley Stadium in London, England. Detroit brings the league's top ranked overall defense across the pond to face a struggling Atlanta offense that puts one of the worst offensive lines on the field. Matt Ryan is second in passing yards because he has to be. It will be a much better flight home for the Lions than it will be for the Falcons.

Winner: Detroit

Buffalo at Jets

The Jets didn't look half bad against the Patriots, and Buffalo has been better than people thought coming into the season. The loss of both Fred Jackson and CJ Spiller will hurt the Bills, but Kyle Orton has proven he can still be a good quarterback in the league. If the Jets can get their running game going like they did against the Pats, then they have a chance to win. However, the Bills are much better at stopping the run (fourth in the league) then New England (24th in the league). This one could be close, but I like Buffalo to come out with the win.

Winner: Buffalo

St. Louis at Kansas City

The Rams stunned the Seahawks last week thanks to Coach Jeff Fisher's willingness to take a couple big gambles, and a little trickery, two things they won't be able to pull off two weeks in a row because the Chiefs will be prepared for it. The Rams are getting a few players back from injury which should help against Kansas City's 30th ranked passing offense, however they are one of the worst teams against the run which means Jaamal Charles should have a field day.

Winner: Kansas City

Houston at Tennessee

JJ Watt is doing everything he can to keep the Texans in games, but as long as Ryan Fitzpatrick is under center, Houston is going to struggle to get wins. Fortunately they head to Nashville to face a Titans team that is in the bottom of the league in every facet of the game. Despite fumbling against the Steelers for the first time in what seems like forever, Arian Foster is still one of the top running backs in the league, and I see him having a field day against the Titans.

Winner: Houston

Minnesota at Tampa Bay

Despite being two of the worst teams in the league right now, I had a difficult time trying to pick this game. As bad as Tennessee is across the board, Tampa Bay is worse. And despite being 2-5, Minnesota boasts a top 10 rushing offense (minus Adrian Peterson), and a top 10 passing defense. If they can establish the run early, and force the Bucs to rely on Mike Glennon to lead them to victory, the Vikings should have no problem getting the win.

Winner: Minnesota

Seattle at Carolina

Does anyone want to win the NFC North? Before the season began, Carolina was expected to give Atlanta and New Orleans a run at the title thanks to what was expected to be a top-ranked defense. Fast forward to now, and that defense ranks in the bottom third of the league against the pass and the run. While Seattle's "Legion of Boom" hasn't had quite the punch it did last season, they still rank in the top 10 against the run, and 15th against the pass. Russell Wilson shouldn't have much trouble moving the ball with his arm or his feet against the Panthers defense, and even though they have to travel to the east coast for an early afternoon kickoff, I like Seattle to get the win.

Winner: Seattle

Baltimore at Cincinnati

AJ Green's status is "up in the air" for this week as he works on getting over a nagging turf toe injury, but his absence isn't the Bengals only concern. A defense that was supposed to be one of the league's best, is second to last overall, and will face a quarterback in Joe Flacco who is completing 63.7% of his passes while throwing 14 touchdowns and only five picks. While I don't think they'll be shutout again like they were against the Colts, I don't think the Bengals will get the win either.

Winner: Baltimore

Miami at Jacksonville

Jacksonville were able to get the "0-fer" monkey off their back last week with a win against the Browns, but I don't see a win streak getting started when they host the Dolphins on Sunday. Ryan Tannehill hasn't been spectacular for Miami, but he hasn't needed to be as the run game, despite losing Knowshawn Moreno for the season, has been rolling. Lamar Miller is averaging just under five yards a carry, and has found the end zone four times. I suspect he should have no problem finding it again at least once against the Jags.

Winner: Miami

Chicago at New England

It would be easy to sit here and say the Bears are falling apart, and that this should be a lock for the Patriots, but Chicago has been much better on the road than they have at home, and New England struggles against the run. With that said, I think the discontent in the Bears locker room coupled with New England seemingly starting to figure things out and look like the Patriots we're used to will be too much for Chicago to overcome.

Winner: New England

Philadelphia at Arizona

I believe there's an old proverb that says, "If the Arizona Cardinals are 5-1, will anyone notice?" So far, it seems that the answer is no. While everyone try's to figure out what kind of teams Seattle and San Francisco are, the Cardinals quietly sit atop the NFC West despite ranking second to last against the pass. They're one and only loss coming to Peyton Manning and the Broncos who lit them up for 479 yards and four touchdowns. Nick Foles is no Manning, but he has the weapons to make it a long day for Arizona. With that said, the Cardinals aren't slouches in the pass game either, and Philly has proven to have trouble against the pass. This one has the makings of a shootout. One that I think Arizona can win.

Winner: Arizona

Cleveland at Oakland

Despite being winless on the season, Raiders QB Derek Carr has been playing pretty good football. Meanwhile, Brian Hoyer has done everything he needs to do to prove that Coach Mike Pettine made the right decision by naming him the starter during preseason. Although they did let the Jaguars get their first win of the season against them last week, I don't see the Browns making it two in a row for winless teams. Oakland is a mess outside of Carr, and is well on the path to the first overall pick in 2015.

Winner: Cleveland

Indianapolis at Pittsburgh

Yes, the Steelers got a win Monday night against Houston, but it didn't answer any questions about who they are. A convincing argument could be made that Pittsburgh didn't win the game as much as Houston gave it away. So far this season, they've faced Brian Hoyer twice, Blake Bortles, Mike Glennon, Joe Flacco, and Ryan Fitzpatrick. With the exception of Flacco, that's not exactly the toughest run of opposition. This week they'll have to deal with the league's top passer, Andrew Luck, and his wide array of weaponry. I don't think it will be a good day for the Steelers.

Winner: Indianapolis

Green Bay at New Orleans

Who are the New Orleans Saints? They sit at 2-4 despite ranking second in the league in passing and 13th in rushing. Their Achilles Heel this season has been their passing defense which currently sits at 28th. They'll have a tough time stopping Aaron Rodgers and a Packers offense that has found its groove over the past few weeks. It won't be pretty in the bayou.

Winner: Green Bay

Washington at Dallas

Let me start by saying this, the Dallas Cowboys will lose another game or two before the season is over, however it won't be Monday night against Washington whose quarterback situation is in shambles right now, and won't get much better when RG III returns. Look for Dallas to improve to 7-1 to take a commanding lead over the NFC East.
