After falling to Washington in game one of Monday night's double-header, 2-0, the Otters rally back for a game two win and find themselves sitting atop the East Division along side the Wild Things.

The Otters went into the three game series that began on Sunday with a ton of momentum after sweeping the then West Division-leading Gateway Grizzlies in Sauget, Illinois, putting them one game back in the division. The bats were on fire again Sunday at home against the Wild Things as they belted four home runs (tying a season high they set just three days prior) in route to a 9-3 win that put the Otters one game up in the division going into Monday's double-header.

The team stumbled a bit out of the gate during game one as Wild Things outfielder Dan Poma walked to begin the game, stole second, advanced to third on a throwing error, and scored on a Scott Kalamar sacrifice fly.

The Otters were able to keep Washington in check for the next five innings until Carter Bell scored on a fielder's choice in the top of the 6th for what would be the final run of the game. The loss dropped Evansville to one game back in the division — until game two rolled around.

Washington took an early lead in the second game of the double-header with two runs in the second leading to Otters manager, Andy McCauley pulling starter Mike DeLong after a little over one inning. The Wild Things added another run in the fourth to take a 3-0 lead, but it was short lived as the Otters rallied back with three of their own in the bottom of the inning to tie the game before outfielder Chris Sweeney added the game winning run on a RBI single in the bottom of the seventh.

The win put the Otters back into a tie for first in the East with the Wild Things temporarily ending the roller coaster ride that is the division lead.

The Otters enjoy their first day off since the All-Star break on Tuesday before hitting the road on Wednesday for a three game series against the new West Division leader, the River City Rascals.
