The weekly Associated Press high school football polls are out, and the Mater Dei Wildcats, and Reitz Panthers find themselves at the top of the heap in their respective classes for the second week in a row.

The Wildcats sit atop the Class 2A poll after a thrilling 35-28 win over defending Class 3A state champ, Tri-West on Saturday to bring their 2015 record to an unblemished 2-0.

Meanwhile, the Panthers remain on top of the Class 4A poll after traveling to Terre Haute South and defeating the then-sixth-ranked Braves 35-14 last Friday night to start their season at 2-0. The loss dropped the Braves to ninth in Class 4A.

Jasper stayed dormant at number three in Class 4A after a narrow 18-13 win over Southridge to keep a goose egg in their loss column.

In Class 3A, Gibson Southern moves up a spot to number two behind Indianapolis Chatard after a solid 63-0 thumping of South Spencer to remain undefeated. It was the second week in a row the Titans put up 63 points while holding their opponents scoreless.

Also in Class 3A, Heritage Hills jumps from six to five after beating Tell City 49-7 Friday night to stay undefeated.
