This past weekend, I hosted a garage sale. I HATE having garage sales - it's SO much work only to have the crap you paid big bucks for, marked for a dollar go for 10 cents. Luckily, my sweet mama came over and did all the preliminary work.

My big treasure of the day wasn't the couple of bucks I racked up selling my arsenal of junk - nope, it was what I fished out my own FREE box. I threw this cast iron heart into the free box thinking it was some leftover 1980s decor. Then, my mom alerted me to its true nature. It was a pancake mold!

Hold the phone - pancake mold! Heck ya! So, I took it and made my first heart-shaped pancakes Sunday morning for my daughter. The newer ones have a handy handle to pick up the (very flat, very hot) mold but mine didn't have one so getting it off the pancake without destroying the soft batter or burning my fingers was challenging but I made it. And look what came out of my free garage sale box... A treasured memory I can share with my little girl all the days of our lives - in other words, Love!
