Video of what is believed to be the play that resulted in a lacerated kidney and partially torn abdominal muscle for Colts franchise quarterback, Andrew Luck has surfaced online, and it looks like something straight out of the WWE.

Sporting News Associate NFL Editor, Tadd Haislop shared the video through his Twitter account:

As you can see, linebacker, Danny Trevathan sheds a block by Colts running back, Amhad Bradshaw to lay a nasty (though completely legal) spear-type hit into the midsection of Luck. To make matters worse, Demarcus Ware finishes the job with a shot from the backside that essentially sandwiches Luck between the two defenders, folding him in half. According to The Sporting News, the resulting injury is one commonly associated with victims of car accidents.

Initial reports coming from the Colts, including featured writer, Kevin Bowen, is that Luck would be out anywhere from two to six weeks, however, ESPN NFL reporter, Ed Werder, sources within the team expect that timetable to be on the longer end of the initial report.

The silver lining (albeit a faint shade of silver) is that the injury won't require surgery and should fully heal on its own. If the initial time table proves true, leaning more toward the six week end of the spectrum, that would put Luck back under center in time for the team's second-to-last regular season game against the Dolphins.

Let's hope Matt Hasselbeck and the rest of the team can keep them in playoff contention between now and then.
