When the players take the field in Florence, Kentucky for the annual Frontier League All-Star Game on July 13th, six of them will be representing the Evansville Otters.

On Monday, the team announced second baseman Josh Allen, shortstop Rolando Gomez, first baseman Nik Balog, third baseman Chris Riopedre, and pitchers Randy McCurry and Tyler Vail had all been voted to represent the team on the West Division All-Star squad with Allen and Gomez voted in as starters at their positions by league officials, team managers, and general managers.

Allen, in his third year sporting an Otters uniform is hitting .359 with 5 home runs and 20 RBIs through the first 46 games of the season while Gomez is hitting .288 with 3 home runs and 16 RBIs in 39 games.

Nik Balog, also in his third season with the team, is hitting .322 with 3 home runs and 20 RBIs through 46 games. While Riopedre, in his first season with Evansville, is hitting .328 with 1 home run and 19 RBIs in 37 games.

The two pitchers have also been making noise through the first half of the season as starter Tyler Vail currently leads the Frontier League with 59 strikeouts in 57.2 innings, and Randy McCurry leads the league with 14 saves. This is Vail's second season with the Otters, and McCurry's first.

The Otters continue their six-games-in-five-days home stand later tonight (July 6th) with game two of their three game series against the River City Rascals. The Otters dropped the first game of the series Tuesday night 3-0.
